Can you go the the METS Game?



Yes! When someone asks an Entreperformer if they can go do something, the answer is "Yes!"

What about when you have a day job? The answer is "I dunno... lemme ask my boss"

The "Online Business" Con- Sell everything BUT the solution.

There is a pattern I've been noticing in the world of Online Marketing.

Someone will do whatever they can to sell you everything BUT the actual solution to your problem.

I recently sent this to a company who makes some GREAT stuff, but doesn't seem to actually ever get around to offering the solution they say they do:

****WARNING** This email may just be a result of my own frustration:

I took the tests, paid for the 37 one and the 97 one... whereas it seems that the tests simply expose the issues that need help (and they are interesting), the actual SOLUTIONS doesn't seem to be anywhere.

And yet, there seems to be a whole lot of products available for purchase... how many do you need to offer?
When you have so many it seems like you actually DON'T have any solutions.

(If everything is "The only thing you need", then why do you have so many?)

If I came here looking for help in creating holes in my wall, sell me a DRILL.
Instead, your site seems to be about everything BUT a drill:

Free Report: "How to create a hole in your wall" that just describes how great holes are...
"Teaching people to create holes is my PASSION"... "Don't you want a hole?"

YES, I do.. that's why I got your report.

"Great! Then Try our GREAT products, at varying prices:

1- A test to see what kind of hole you need! (Only if you actually want one)
2- A test to see what kind of of hole maker you are! (Find out why you don't have holes in your life!)
3- A Book about several people who have made holes (You can be like them too- when you get our products!)
4- Classes that focus on the benefits of holes, what you can do with them, and WHY you are a hole-wanter. (A Mastermind for hole-wanters, so we can support each other!)

and $1000 dollars later, I still don't have a DRILL.

So, I have almost lost all of my faith in your website because it seems to follow this pattern.
It's not that the tests aren't interesting, and the various colors, logos, and mascots are too, but I want a DRILL.

Are you able to sell someone a DRILL? If not, please stop baiting me with your offerings.

I was on the subway today with my cute wife after a shopping trip all around NYC.

A woman came on begging for money, which is a usual occurrence of course, but she said something that made me ask myself a question... what's your answer?

So, as you go about your day, ask yourself where you are limiting yourself, and then help someone ELSE escape the same limitation!

You can see this woman and her partner being laughed at, and patronized

by the judges and the audience.



Then the whole thing changes, and by the time she speaks near the end of the video,

I was crying happy, but empathetic tears.



So the question is- Who is Doubting YOU?

and what's worse- when other people do it., or when YOU do it to yourself?



YOU CAN GO FOR IT- I believe in you!!

Fame, Acting, and Porn

Some people want Fame, so they become Actors, thinking that it leads to fame.
I might.

But I have a better idea for them...

Some people think that if they just get famous, then all of their problems would be solved:

They'd Be Rich

People Would Like Them

And They'd Finally Get The Respect They Deserve.

So, they want to become an Actor.

They think, "hey, if I become a successful actor, then I'll be famous!". They are wrong of course, because there are many non-famous actors.

And these people are cluttering up the audition rooms with their stupidity.

Instead, I think if you wanna be famous, be a porn star.

That's a lot of work too, but at least you have a better shot at it- you can go directly to the consumer that way too!

Laurence Fishburne's Daughter went this route, and it didn't work out all that well for her... yet- but then again so did Kim Kardashian.

The Brown Eye Blue Eye Experiment

I spend a lot of energy making white people feel comfortable around me.



There, I said it. I have been keeping this a secret for a while now, but I realized it recently when I was in the elevator with someone who was obviously nervous about being alone with me. Now, I was in an elevator in my own building, where I have lived my entire life.



MY ENTIRE LIFE.



I saw her nervousness, and in a higher-than-my-normal-voice pitch, made a joke, self-deprecated (word?), smiled, and giggled.



I believe in doing this anyway, just to make people's day better, but I noticed that day where it came from.



I was worried for her, and wanted her to feel better.



I could be wrong, and I wish I could say that she was nervous because she found me SO attractive. That's probably a better way to imagine it.



But either way, I did it because I was confident that she was nervous because I am a man of color.



And then here's the part that hurt.



My beautiful wife is pregnant right now, and I had the thought that I hope our child looks more like her (white), so that I don't have to teach that skill to my boy.



It's a good skill; how to make other people feel comfortable in your presence, but I just think he'd be better off without needing it the way feel I do.



That's a pretty heavy confession, and kinda sad, and I choked up a bit when I told Laura that.



She did too.



And even weirder is that for all of those feelings that I have, I'm relatively light-skinned, the vast majority of my friends are white, and for most of my life, I'm the "whitest" of my non-white friends.



To the Latinos I'm pretty watered-down, and to the blacks, I'm kind of an honorary member.



So, if I were REALLY dark, I would probably be even funnier and friendlier!



Or not, and after a while you just say "fuck it", and give into the expectations.



And the girl who leaves in the video isn't just showing her ability to remove the stigma, but also the ability to just leave "the system" that berates her and hates her...



Which is a decision a lot of my people of color make.



But it's ALWAYS a person's individual choice, and always a matter of personal responsibility.



So I'm going to keep on smiling, and not worry about WHY someone needs me to.
